How does glow-in-the-dark fabric work?
Glow-in-the-dark fabric works by photoluminescence. The textile is exposed to daylight or indoor lamps; energy is stored in photoluminescent pigment; when ambient light drops, stored energy is released as visible glow. Intensity then fades. Charge time, lux, construction, and viewing darkness all change what a buyer sees. Luminous Fabrics does not publish a laboratory afterglow curve for Classic Glow Plush. The mill introduction describes typical charge and afterglow as company description only. Test a sample under your lighting.
Why it matters to buyers
Buyers need a process they can repeat in a studio: charge, darken, observe, sew, then decide — not a marketing number.
Material explanation
Visible performance is affected by how long and how brightly the fabric is charged, how dark the viewing room is, pile construction, and whether the glow is judged on a swatch or a stuffed product. Confidential mill formulas are not disclosed.
